Kuranda Scenic Railway |

Picture yourself on a 34km long postcard....
There's not a postcard around that can capture the beauty you'll witness on board the Kuranda Scenic Railway.
For one and a half fabulous hours you travel onboard historical carriages through some of the lushest rainforest, you'll pass deep gorges rugged mountains and the spectacular waterfalls.

It's a view that was originally captured 100 years ago by teams of railway men armed only with picks and shovels.
Today, that 34km track still winds its way through 15 hand made tunnels up to Kuranda Station. A Station which looks more like a beautiful botanic garden.
From there you can visit "The Village in the Rainforest", the Tjapukai Dance Theatre, the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary, Kuranda Wildlife Noctarium, Kuranda Oar and Paddle Hire, as well as the Army Duck tours, plus many unique shops, cafes and restaurants.
There's also a range of value added options available. These include breakfast and other snacks, served daily from 6.30am, at Mrs Robb's Kitchen in Cairns Railway Station. Depending on your appetite you can choose either the Continental breakfast, natural Queensland style or the hearty Australian breakfast, cooked when you arrive. What a great way to start this remarkable journey.
Market Days are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday.
